Dorie is a comedian/story-teller/joy-bringer who believes that caffeine is keeping her alive, popcorn should have its own food group, dry-cleaning saves marriages and that true joy comes from knowing we are worthy of God’s love in the middle of all our imperfections.
She has been speaking and performing stand-up comedy since 2006 for audiences coast-to-coast and around the globe. Who else can say they have performed on a stage in a Chick-fil-a parking lot and for a group of Syrian refugees? Not many people.
She feels most at home in her own bed and with groups of church ladies who have chocolate fountains in their lobby, but she also has performed for corporations such as Apple, Ambit Energy, and more and has shared the stage with comedians Anjelah Johnson, Ben Bailey (Cash Cab), Dove award-winning comedian Bone Hampton, Bob Smiley, Kerri Pomarolli, Cleto Rodriguez, and several others.
Dorie also travels with comedian/speaker Michael Jr., Sisters United Ministries and The Laugh Tour in addition to the carpool line at two different schools. She is also a co-host on Michael Jr.’s Off the Cuff podcast’s “Off the Page” series.
Her real claim to fame: falling backwards out of the bathtub while washing her children and being featured on “America’s Funniest Videos,” allowing herself to be publicly humiliated every time it re-runs for no money whatsoever.
