DORIE

Dorie is a comedian/story-teller/joy-bringer and best-selling author who believes that caffeine is keeping her alive, popcorn should have its own food group, dry-cleaning saves marriages and that true joy comes from knowing we are worthy of God’s love in the middle of all our imperfections.

She has been speaking and performing stand-up comedy since 2006 for audiences coast-to-coast and around the globe.  Who else can say they have performed on a stage in a Chick-fil-a parking lot and for a group of Syrian refugees?  Not many people.

Her favorite events are with groups of women at churches who see laughter as soul medicine (and possibly have coffee and chocolate fountains in their lobby), but she also has performed for corporations such as Apple, Ambit Energy, and more and has shared the stage with comedians Anjelah Johnson, Ben Bailey (Cash Cab), Dove award-winning comedian Bone Hampton, Bob Smiley, Kerri Pomarolli, Cleto Rodriguez, and several others.

Dorie also travels with the Unknown Tour, Blush Events, and with comedian/speaker Michael Jr., in addition to the carpool line at two different schools.  She is a co-host on Michael Jr.’s Funny How Life Works podcast’s “Off the Page” series.

She wrote the bestselling women's devotional book, "Hope Looks Good on You!  A Comedian's Joy-inducing Daily Devotional for Women" to help women develop a habit of hope in their lives.

Her real claim to fame:  falling backwards out of the bathtub while washing her children and being featured on “America’s Funniest Videos,”  allowing herself to be publicly humiliated every time it re-runs for no money whatsoever.
